It was always a dilemma as to where to hold wedding receptions in Gainesville, Florida. When meeting with fellow business owners, we all felt that someone needed to buy a building to host wedding receptions. In 1996 a downtown location became available! I knew I could turn the building into an elegant and serving facility for our wonderful community.The building had previously been used for a number of businesses and was in complete disrepair but it had four brick walls, and a history.
After purchasing the building, I began an extensive renovation. The original use of the building was for a car dealership and repair shop. Some of the brick walls still had notes written on them by mechanics - I left them. On December 22, 1997, I opened the doors to Savannah Grande Reception Hall and have barely closed them since!
Our gracious hospitality and a well-presented menu for guests with discriminating tastes, proved to be a winner. However, we soon discovered that wedding receptions would only be a small part of our success. Recently, we sold Savannah Grande Reception Hall. My daughter, Andrea ad I have expanded the scope of Savannah Grande by opening an upscale event rental store. Our new company offers exquisite linens, the latest table décor, designer floral arrangements, elegant china and more. We offer catering and bar services for those desiring to host events from their homes, office or rental venues.
Andrea is one of Gainesville's only Certified Professional Wedding Consultants. She offers her services for personal assistance in all areas of planning for engagement parties, wedding ceremonies and receptions. I design room settings, floral arrangements, and décor for all events. Our location's new showroom showcases décor themes and displays glamorous trends in all colors and styles. Our many years in the event industry have provided us with the knowledge of what memories are truly made of.
